The salary range for this position is $115,000-$140,000 and reflects factors such as years of experience, relevant expertise, and overall qualifications.
Job Summary
TÜV Rheinland is seeking a motivated Senior Project Engineer to support utility-scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout United States.
Responsible for execution of conformity assessments for the safety, quality and/or performance of products in various categories within larger projects that require a higher seniority level.
Job Description
- ■Acts as technical expert within the project.
- ■Defines the testing basis, testing programs and plans.
- ■Analyses test data and interprets test results.
- ■Ensures that test results meet the requirements.
- ■Prepares test report.
- ■Communicates and coordinates with other internal and external labs for testing support if necessary.
- ■Might support sales in calculating costs and capacities.
- ■Might supervise project engineers within larger projects.
- ■Might support in Sales & Marketing activities or in development of new services
- ■Might attend other external or internal events to provide technical expertise.
- ■Travel to customer sites as required (frequency will depend on candidate's proximity to client location).
- ■Other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringWork Experience
- ■Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent field experience.
- ■5+ years of experience in Solar PV, BESS, electrical construction, commissioning, inspection, quality control, or O&M.
- ■Demonstrated and applied knowledge of PV systems, BESS, and electrical equipment.
- ■The candidate can work remotely, but will need to travel up to 70–80% of the time.
- ■Ability to work outdoors under various weather conditions while following all safety requirements.
- ■Experience with utility-scale Solar PV or BESS projects.
- ■Experience with EL testing, IV Curve tracing, infrared inspection, or drone inspection.
- ■OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- ■NABCEP certification is a plus.
- ■Familiarity with NEC, IEC, UL, or NFPA standards.
- ■Experience with field inspection and testing equipment is strongly preferred.
- ■Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation is an advantage.
- ■Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- ■Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- ■Valid driver's license.
