Manager - Commercial Inspection

Job Description

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement regional business strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Achieve revenue, margin, and collection targets.
  • Identify new market opportunities in commodities, agri-products, minerals, and other products inspection, etc.
  • Build strong relationships with exporters, importers, traders, shipping lines, and surveyors.
  • Participate in client meetings, tender submissions, and commercial negotiations.

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day inspection activities across ports, warehouses, and plants.
  • Ensure timely deployment of inspectors and supervisors.
  • Monitor operational efficiency, reporting timelines, and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, accreditation requirements, and company policies.
  • Handle operational escalations and client complaints.

Team Leadership & Resource Management

  • Recruit, train, and manage inspectors, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Set KPIs and performance targets for the regional team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching.
  • Optimize manpower planning and cost control.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure inspections are conducted as per international standards (GAFTA, FOSFA, ISO, ASTM, etc.).
  • Maintain documentation and audit readiness.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance at all operational locations.
  • Coordinate with QA and accreditation bodies when required.

Financial & Administrative Control

  • Monitor regional P&L performance.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and payment collection.
  • Control operational costs and improve margins.
  • Submit monthly MIS reports to management.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary contact for key regional clients.
  • Maintain long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Resolve disputes and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Increase repeat business and nominations.

HSE

  • Ensure adherence to the HSE roles, responsibilities & accountabilities as defined in MS-0047700-HSE Roles Responsibilities & Authorities.
  • Comply and ensure implementation of the company’s and the customer’s Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures.

Experience & Further Qualifications

  • Minimum 15-20 years years of experience in sales or operations within TIC Commercial Inspection
  • Experience dealing with clients across India is essential for commodities like agri products, Minerals.etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, Hindi and local language
  • Willing to travel extensively across the region and as required to other parts of India and Overseas.
  • Ability to work independently under field conditions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Setting up new office and laboratory and managing team of managers and filed inspectors
