Senior Project Manager - Project Management Consulting & Renewable Energy - Job Description

Establish and manage a Project Management Consulting department focussing on providing Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Technical Advisor, Construction Management services for renewable energy and infrastructure development projects.
Drive business development, proposals, client presentations and technical/commercial write-ups for Owner’s Engineer, LTA, PMC and construction-management bids; convert the opportunity pipeline and build vendor/technology partnerships.
Lead infrastructure and renewable-energy projects across the full lifecycle, from tendering and feasibility through construction to commissioning, on behalf of asset owners and financiers.
Act as Owner’s Engineer, providing independent technical oversight to safeguard client capital investment.
Act as Lender’s Technical Advisor, conducting technical due diligence and monitoring on behalf of financiers and investors.
Provide construction management and site supervision; review and validate FEED packages, contractor deliverables and design submissions.
Establish and manage project controls (scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk); lead change control, claims and variation processes.
Support knowledge transfer and training and represent TÜV Rheinland at industry conferences and technical committees.

Work Experience

BEng / BSc in Engineering (Master’s preferred).
A recognised project-management qualification — PMP, PRINCE2, or PrCM with the SACPCMP (required).
8 years in project management, project supervision or engineering consultancy, with a strong track record in infrastructure and renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, substations, transmission).
Proven experience managing the full project lifecycle, ideally in Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Technical Advisor or Construction Management roles.
Strong knowledge of project-management methodologies and controls, with MS Project, Primavera P6 or equivalent.
Strong business acumen with client-facing / proposal experience and an entrepreneurial mindset — you can win work, not only deliver it.
