SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager leads and supports daily business functions to ensure smooth, efficient operations across teams. This individual is responsible for supervising staff, managing project workflows, tracking team performance, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The Operations Manager ensures that company objectives are met through effective planning, resource allocation, and operational improvements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead / Supervisory and disciplinary responsibilities for a team of Test Engineers and / or Coordinators managing workload and time / time off approval on a timely basis
  • Work closely with technical leads and managers
  • Provide leadership and supervision for a team of employees, including scheduling, workload management, and time-off approvals.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and enhance team productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including sales, customer service, and senior management to align operations with company goals.
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff to build capabilities and ensure high performance.
  • Serve as the assisting point of contact for project management and process execution, ensuring timely delivery of tasks.
  • Support operational planning by coordinating resources, developing timelines, and monitoring progress.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures within the team.
  • Participate in cross-site collaboration and knowledge sharing with other regional or global teams.
  • Prepare operational reports and documentation for internal use and audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and client information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Experience with process improvement, workflow optimization, and resource planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in an operations, project management, or team leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in supervising teams and managing business function
  • Experience and understanding of NEC, NFPA, UL, CSA, IEC, EN Standards preferred.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

Direct: Test Engineers (all levels), administrative staff, project managers/schedulers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office and laboratory environment

Equipment Used:

  • Personal Computer

Travel Required:

  • Occasional travel to client locations and for team meetings/coordination
